A Welcome To Our New VA Leadership

 W. Scott Gould Sworn in as Deputy Secretary of VA Veterans

"Back in February we wrote about how Secretary of Veteran Affairs Shinseki felt about the future appointment of W. Scott Gould as the Deputy Secretary of Veteran Affairs.  Nothing but praise had been mentioned. On April 9, 2009 Gould was finally sworn in into as Deputy Secretary."

A wishing well & a hearty welcome to our new VA leadership:

For decades our government has done a very good job of saving tax payers money with inadequate VA funding.  Even with their proven leadership abilities, and impeccable credentials, both Shinseki and Gould are facing the cumulative inadequacies of decades.  The tiny fuse of overmedication that has kept this whole VA system operational for thirt
y some years now desperately needs to be replaced with major re-wiring.  This young generation of veterans should not have to experience the palliative treatment of healthcare most veterans using the VA have experienced for decades now.  It would be great to see the VA step into the 21st Century as the leader in world-class health care.  But after decades of underfunding this proposed new VA budget  is not enough to just change clinical management's NEED to mandate doctors cover up symptoms with medications vs. the costly,  prolonged, or unproven treatments.  For our new leadership to achieve their full potential along with World-Class 21st Century VA Health Care; a one time additional funding of at least $17 billion is desperately needed to re-wire and pull that one small fuse.

As a disabled female veteran I used my VA benefits to obtain a BA in the bs of political science. I am compelled to help our new veterans recieve a comfortable, productive future they so rightly deserve.
