This is a protest poem against the sudden increasing militarization of Japan at the hands of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
A thin, white border-line of soft, yet Argus-eyed doves,
tempered with doughty restraint,
God sees from on high.
God's tears---no, no tears;
for God's had enough of this.
From within, the doves feel and hear
the raging, roaring, rushing, thundering rumblings of feet, gathering speed;
clangor jangling, hissing; all the unspeakable white-hot passions erupting forth from Mt. Patriotism! and Mt. Humanity!---
red, blazing eyes raging, cherry blossoms shriveling down on to the crummy, cold, damp dirt...
O! A riving force of our own making afoot---
subtly but surely propagating forceful waves of hot vapor of bestial rage
and cowing those doves into valorously slow retreat, into the sea,
still incarnadined with the blood of the loyal pilots...
A new, old era, will you die aborning?
Just a transitory, unintended fire that our mouldering touchwood has just ignited?
God, God---whatever God you may believe in---God!---bless our sacred pearl in our highest document!
Now barely showing tatters, yet His divinity and His benignity and His lordly bliss shall restore it to its former glory!
God, God--whatever God you may believe in---God!
Save our soul, our legacy, our wisdom, slowly, sadly slipping off into the Pacific...
into the Pacific...
into the Pacific...
... .... .... .......
