Today I passed a million views on Opednews.com.

My Quicklinks from other peoples' articles passed a million views of some time ago.

A lot has changed in the world since those early days, deep in the mid Great Financial Crisis of 2008-2009. The world has recovered from that, but with a hangover of bailed out banks that never fully became independent of the Federal Reserve QE bailouts since then.

I asked Grok AI on the X (formerly Twitter) platform:

How has the Fed's balance sheet grown since the first bank bailouts going back to 2008 to today? Summarize to half a page.

Grok: The Federal Reserve's balance sheet grew dramatically from under $1 trillion before the 2008 financial crisis to a peak near $9 trillion during the COVID-19 response, and now stands at approximately $6.7 trillion as of late May 2026.

Overall, the balance sheet expanded roughly 7-8 times from pre-2008 levels, driven by crisis responses, quantitative easing (QE) to support the economy and lower long-term rates, and shifts toward maintaining ample bank reserves.

Perhaps even more notable than Grok's answer is the fact that in late 2008:

A. There was no public A.I. that could even answer such a question, and do it for free.
