The articles I've seen lately about the boon to security providers don't mention many of the steps I would undertake at this time, were I of the 1%.
As far as defending against attack, right now those "superior persons" should be buying Guinea Pigs, rats and chemical test kits, if not hiring human food testers. They need explosives detectors and personnel to search vehicles and visitors. They need to drill their own on site wells for drinking water and keep protected farms. They need to place detectors for air-born contaminants. Anti-missile systems may prove their worth.
If protestors get killed or much more harmed, I would rather quit and flee the U.S. than continue extracting $2.5 Mil/day for myself as a hedge fund manager, and what about spouses and children? The problem is, where would these types like to exile that is remote from people who are pissed? Who in the world isn't pissed? They are right to feel afraid.
Change clothes? Are they kidding? I'd get the out of Dodge and look up a plastic surgeon ASAP. I won't be surprised to see anonymous postings of personal info and images any time now, and that says nothing about snail mail. #OWS ought to look into starting up a free press right away. 1% is a very lonely, dangerous place to be right now, and the more the 1% react, the more they show guilt and invite retaliation. The 1% have made themselves toxic. I would avoid all contact with them and stay out of their vicinity, except as an obvious protestor. Choose your associates wisely.
I didn't think the 1% figured on 99% rising up so fast. After all, 10% have been taking the brunt of this class warfare for 30 years, so one might think this protest would start and possibly remain the exclusive production of 10%, but they got way too greedy to contain this outrage.
Now the economic range of angry citizens provides each of them a much wider field that must be considered as a source that any personal attack might come from. There is new found safety from suspicion in numbers. The old "usual suspects" list and habitual investigation routines no longer apply.
All this strife need not continue throughout years of gradual adjustment. There is more than one nuclear option and I'm not going to spell out the near instantly effective financial policies that could be taken, because they must be perfectly self evident to most voters and every single Federal official and member of the "Fed", with the possible exception of some TPers. We don't need to collectively suffer long at all, and they know it. The extent to which we wait will be the extent to which our anger grows and spreads. It is up to the controlling powers to save themselves. No one else can help them, and no one else put them in peril.
