Karl Rove is planning on coming to Portland, Oregon on February 10, 2010 to pick up a nice paycheck and laugh all the way to one of the bailed out banks. He is scheduled to debate Dr. Howard Dean about international and national issues facing our country. This man belongs in prison, not on stage with a respected democrat.
We are now asking formally that Dr. Dean withdraw from this event.
We are calling on all of Portland's groups to oppose this event and say it loud enough for both of these people to hear.
We believe in the right of all to speak, we will not stop even this man who has caused so much destruction from speaking but we will make it a night to remember. Our response to Rove receiving a huge check for what amounts to be treason, murder and a deep hatred for democracy is obscene and will not go unchallenged. Our response must be loud and clear; "You sir are among the worst of the worst and are not welcome here in Portland."
Now it will be up to the people of Portland to show this war criminal, traitor, this man who destroyed so many lives, that he will not enjoy peace or respect until he is brought before a jury of his peers.
There is not enough space here to list all his crimes but there are two that we, Individuals for Justice, often talk about and should mention.
1) The outing of a CIA undercover agent dealing with nuclear weapons. CIA agent Valerie Plame and her entire operation was made public by this traitor. Benedict Arnold could not have done a better job of treason. The number of people who were imprisoned or murdered by this man's actions may never be known; use your imagination---what would foreign countries do to people who were dealing with the cover company set up by the CIA and Valerie Plame. Rove did this to get even and discredit Valerie's husband, Joe Wilson.
Rove had a unique way of getting even with people who opposed his boss in the White House. The Don Siegelman affair was part of a major corruption enterprise with Karl in the middle, directing the investigation of hundreds of elected officials, 80-85% democrats. We may never know how many families this corrupt man destroyed.
2) All of the activities that surrounded the planning and execution of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was the work of this monster. The lies, manipulation of the Justice Department, the corruption of the courts, all the handy work of this damaged, defective and disgusting human being. Torture can be laid at the feet of this pimp for the Bush and Cheney administration.
Dr. Howard Dean should not do this event, we will tell him loud, very loudly, that we are disappointed in him.
