Vote-by-Mail Doesn't Deliver

Thanks to Oregon's experience, some are eager to adopt all-mail elections and abandon polling place voting.

This may be unwise. Reasons:

First class mail, discriminates against low-income communities and dense urban areas

Effect on voter turnout is at best neutral, but may favor affluent voters.

Is more susceptible to corruption than voting at polling places

Is amenable to manipulation by election officials
