Since the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded 40 miles offshore April 20, killing 11 workers, between 94 million and 184 million gallons of oil have leaked into the Gulf.

No long-term studies of people living inshore of a spill have been done to show what exposure levels of certain chemicals could trigger chronic health risks, but that is about to chnge.
