Bernie Sanders had just argued he was “not into personal attacks and mean-spirited attacks.” When he was challenged about whether bringing up Clinton’s speaking fees constituted a personal attack.
The following two quotes crystallize why a candidate’s revenue/paycheck affects their position on political issues:
“Man is incapable of understanding any argument that interferes with his revenue.” - Rene Descartes (1596-1650)
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” ― Upton Sinclair (1878-1968)
These two quotes, separated by as much a three centuries, speak volumes as to why Bernie Sanders’ understanding of many 2016 Presidential Campaign Issue encompasses greater depth and breather and why Hillary Clinton's understanding is encumbered by her reliance on money and is therefore much more limited.
