The United States could slash greenhouse gas emissions from power production by up to 78 percent below 1990 levels within 15 years while meeting increased demand, according to a new study by NOAA and University of Colorado Boulder researchers. [Again I suggest military conversion; I know and have known many folks in the military and can't think of a single one of them who wouldn't favor this. While there's much work to be done, so many of the basic structures, politics, and abilities are sitting and waiting.]
