Boeing's disaster-plagued new 737 Max 8 raises questions about the role of Pentagon Acting Sec. Patrick Shanahan, who before 2016 headed the commercial aircraft side of Boeing. Now he oversees all the Pentagon's contracting and is being investigated by the Pentagon's Inspector General, suspected of steering contracts to his old employer.
