Having earlier this year watched Oliver Stone's documentary on Kennedy's killing in addition to one or two others I thought I was relatively up-to-date. In Stone's documentary we were introduced to Ruth Paine, who for a few weeks provided Marina Oswald a place to live. And from Ed Curtin's review of Max Good's 'The Assassination and Mrs. Paine' I see now there's yet more to consider:
The Paines, who have claimed they are pacifists, might best be superficially described as unassuming, liberal Quaker/Unitarian do-gooders, whose wealth and astounding family and intelligence connections would make heads spin, if they were known. The film exposes many of those connections.
The JFK assassination indeed seems to have been the first of three-and-counting coups against the country that still calls itself a democracy.
