100's donated to pay off lunch debts at a Minnesota school after hearing that students' hot meals were thrown away. 40 students at Richfield High School had a lunch balance of $15, had their lunches thrown away November 11. A video surfaced on social media of lunches being tossed; the community responded angrily. The district apologized and asked people to donate.

A local church, Passion Church, also pledged $10,000 in donations over 1 year, the district confirmed. That brings the pledged amount up to more than $32,000.
"My question is, how can a church like ours, who says they love God, stand by and let this happen?" Passion Church lead pastor said in a video. "That's why we want to do something about it."
