Steve Bannon stepping down from Breitbart after controversial comments in tell-all book

Steve Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News, is stepping down from the news organization, according to a report. The change comes days after conservative mega-donor Rebecca Mercer cut ties with Bannon after a new tell-all about the Trump White House revealed he made unflattering comments about the president and his family. Bannon said in a statement to the Times he was “proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform.”
