Russia's President Vladimir Putin agreed during a Thursday telephone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the United States was wrong to withdraw from the international nuclear accord with Iran. Putin has not spoken publicly on the matter, but various Russian government officials have condemned the decision. Putin also held a meeting with Russia's Security Council, where he and the council reportedly "expressed deep concern over such a decision and again emphasized the importance of this (nuclear deal) document," according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
