On the 24th of November 2015, Turkey shot down a Russian Sokhoi Su-24 over the Turkish-Syrian border causing the death of one of the two parachuted pilots while trying to hit the ground. On the same day, a year later, a Syrian Air Force jet hit a Turkish military convoy two kilometers from the northern Syrian city of al-Bab, killing three Turkish soldiers.
