Japan's prime minister publicly rebuked US President Barack Obama at a press conference on Wednesday, saying that he feels "profound resentment" over a murder allegedly committed by an American in Okinawa. Shinzo Abe told Obama, who is visiting Japan for the annual G7 summit, that he was lodging a "protest" over the death of a 20-year-old woman who had been missing since April. A US military contractor working on a base in Okinawa was arrested for the crime after she was found in a forest in the city. Obama, in turn, responded that the US is "appalled" by any violent crime carried out by a US contractor.
