" It is a straight up shanda and scandal, and the city must release the report without further delay.”DOI and SCI said the allegations that brought about their investigation were claims that the progress of the inquiry, the timing of the report and the "substance of its conclusions ... were all influenced by political pressure from the Mayor or other City or State elected officials."The DOI is unequivocal that the city relegated the education and wellbeing of thousands of yeshiva students to a position subservient to the Mayor’s political interests,” said Susan Lerner, head of the good government group Common Cause New York, in a statement. “To accept this corruption as just politics as usual is a gross perversion of the city’s responsibilities."
