Mercedes Schneider comments on the happy convergence of Betsy DeVos and "the notorious anti-government ALEC which  has forced its mammoth way into statehouses via its “model legislation,” designed to siphon public money into the already-overflowing corporate tank.  DeVos is  more than willing to deregulate a wide path leading from USDOE to the corporate-profiteering doorstep. Their pro-corporate, profiteering views converge. Schneider knows ALEC well, having written about it in the past. ALEC writes model legislation for states that want to get rid of public schools, teachers' rights, unions, gun control, and any regulation that interferes with corporate profits. To learn more about ALEC, read A Chronicle of Echoes–ALEC chapter or go to Mercedes blog  see: " ALEC Exposed". US secretary of education Betsy DeVos will be an ALEC featured speaker at its Denver conference in July 2017"
