Republican candidates and committees raised $623.5 million through the year-old online donation platform WinRed, as the GOP hustles to try to make up lost ground to Democrats among online donors.
The fundraising on the platform represents exponential growth for Republicans, more than doubling the $275.5 million that was raised through the platform in the second quarter of the year.
“The rapid success of WinRed is testament to unprecedented party unity behind the need to take on ActBlue — quickly and aggressively,” WinRed president Gerrit Lansing wrote in a memo.
