The Dallas County district attorney plans to announce the indictment at a news conference Friday afternoon attended by Jean's family and their attorneys. But court records reflect the charge.
Amber Guyger told authorities she had mistaken Botham Jean's apartment for her own before she shot him. Grand jurors heard evidence Wednesday, leaving that night without voting on whether to indict Guyger. They returned Friday and voted.
The panel could have voted to indict Guyger for manslaughter, the count she was initially arrested on, or another charge, or they could have decided she should face no charges at all.
