Planetary scientist Joseph Kirschvink believes he has discovered clear evidence of a lost human ‘sixth sense’ - one similar to that which enables animals to navigate the globe by detecting magnetic fields. Animals have been found to possess subtle magnetic detecting power in previous studies. Kirschvink is now working to publish the findings of an admittedly small 24-person experiment which he claims gave a result proving that “humans have functioning magnetoreceptors,” report Science Mag. He plans to replicate his findings in the Southern Hemisphere, having already repeated the experiment successfully in California and Tokyo.
