The poll, conducted by the Change Research for the Democratic group The Welcome Party following the New Hampshire primary, shows the senator from Vermont matching Biden's 23% support in the state. The figure marks a 3 percentage point gain for Sanders and a 2 percentage point drop for Biden since the same poll was taken last month before Iowa and New Hampshire. Biden, who has traditionally polled well with African American voters, has seen South Carolina as a firewall after a disappointing fourth-place finish in Iowa and fifth-place finish in New Hampshire.
