Dream Defenders at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Endorse Bernie Sanders

Sanders’ platform sounds like  Dream Defenders’ Freedom Papers: freedom from poverty, prison, police brutality align with Sanders’ free college, Medicare for all, 100% elimination of student debt, ending mass incarceration, instituting “prisoners bill of rights,” ending Iran war. Recent FAMU graduate Marie Rattigan was involved in the endorsement. In 2014, she organized a Coral Glades H.S. walkout for Trayvon Martin’s death 2nd anniversary. She’s helping elect 1 of the most progressive presidential candidates America has ever seen. Rattigan believes that his platform isn’t radical at all. In fact, it’s just the change America needs, she said.

“Ordinary people can change the world. There’s more of us than there is the 1%ers. Free education is not radical. If we stop funneling money into creating more beds in prison, then we can have that money to send people to school for free.”
