Don't count on Uncle Joe, South Carolina

South Carolina, with 1/3+ minority voters, will see the 1st contest with a true cross-section to evaluate presidential contenders. Biden's advantages: experience in governance, which SC tends to reward; he’s familiar, having made SC a second home; his relationships have paid off in endorsements from black leaders and ministers. 

These positives don’t mean it won’t be tough for gaffe-prone Biden. The guy in 2nd place, Tom Steyer's message blends traditional politics with climate change.

When Thurmond switched to the Republican Party, it helped their efforts to have Democrats be able to decide which primary to vote in. Now, these Upstate yahoos want to change this, which will make things more partisan in a place that’s too partisan already.

Let South Carolina’s Democrats pick the candidate they believe will best serve the country.
