This is what American democracy looks like: A state in which the law allows candidates to challenge the system, to ensure voters that the process works like it’s supposed to. A big room full of workers and volunteers, carefully examining each ballot to make sure each voter’s voice was heard. A lot of time, because ensuring the integrity of the vote is the core of our American system. Diligence, because that’s the only way to ensure it’s done right.
