California Raises Minimum Age for Cops to 21 Years

Police only have to be 18 years old to make quick life & death decisions, 7 years before judgment-making frontal lobes are fully developed, especially in males.

"In addition to increasing the minimum age for police officers from 18 to 21, the new law will also work to establish a college education requirement, involving courses in psychology, ethnic studies, law and others.  A 2010 study that found college-educated police officers in two cities were less likely to use force in encounters with suspects."

This is a good idea but police departments will also have to raise starting pay to attract these better educated, older, recruits who will have more options.
