Professor and activist Gary L. Francione points out - as he has in the past with outrage over Michael Vick - the inconsistency in popular outrage over the killing of Cecil the Lion, for those who consume and use animal products. The physical and emotional pain is the same, the environmental damage is at least the same, and there is no moral difference. However, the killing of animal as a result of animal agriculture happens on a huge scale.
