Lots of people dissatisfied with the status quo of politics as usual. I was born 1965, became politically conscious 1980 or so, so I've been paying attention almost 40 years, and it seems more thrilling than ever, that something's got to give.
As you may or may not know, the current contract between federal officials and our citizenry, that which binds us all together, is the Constitution.
And as you may or may not know, that contract was framed and built around the idea that because history has shown that human governments can become corrupt, amendments would become necessary in turn, to re-set and correct course.
And as you may or may not know, the reason why constitutional amendments require 75%+ approval is so that regardless of subject matter or philosophy, conservative to liberal, the idea must have all of one side of the political spectrum signed on, plus at least half of the other, or it goes nowhere and is relegated to the dustbin of history like 10,000+ other proposed amendments before it. Although the ratification mode is set by Congress, through the state legislatures, or through state conventions, approval is roughly 7 out of 10 Americans saying "Yes!" and/or "Hell Yes!"
And as you may or may not know, lots of people are on Facebook, close to 60% of voting age Americans. Which means that if you wanted to formally propose an amendment to the Constitution, you would know going in, it would have to get a Yes from nearly all of Facebook.
Are there such ideas? Political polls show that indeed there are.
And finally, as you may or may not know, there are only two ways to formally discuss and propose and amendment: Congress or the Article V Convention.
If you believe that voting in new members of Congress will result in the formal proposal of amendments adequate to our circumstances, then you suck and are the actual reason why things are bad.
If you like the idea of holding a national referendum on a corrupt system, if you are unafraid of formally discussing amendment language with fellow Americans and you favor the Article V Convention, but don't think the government will ever allow it, then please do keep it in your thoughts and prayers.
