With the news in the Washington Post that Trump plans further cuts in the budget to social services - Medicare, food stamps, health care and housing - we seem to be turning back the clock to the days before Social Security, before the New Deal. And with all the perks being given to the wealthiest among us, perhaps, even, we may be going back as far as the days of royalty and gentry, the French Revolution, Napoleonic Wars, the guillotine.
