THE McCAIN MUTINY: Why Republicans Are Jumping Ship More and more Republicans with hearts and brains are jumping ship because they see a ship wreck ahead and don't think McCain will make a very good captain. Once the "brilliance" of choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate wore off, the stupidity and self-serving shortsightedness of it set in. As Obama began to look more and more like a President for the times, Palin began to look like a President for the End Times.

5 Reasons I'm Supporting Marianne Williamson for Congress My sense is there is a ripeness in both urgency and awareness -- which is why I am supporting my friend Marianne Williamson in her campaign for Congress as an Independent. You might ask, what difference would it make for one individual to be elected at a time when the moneyed forces seem to be occupying every seat of power?

The Shift Has Hit the Fan: Welcome to the Sane Asylum So ... how do we do this? How do we go from our habitual "every cell for itself" consciousness that has caused our current "mining disaster" to acting on the evolutionary truth that we are in reality "all cells in the body of humanity?" How do we shift from survival of the fittest to thrival of the fittingest?

March Against Monsanto ... and Beyond - From Disconnecting the Bad to Connecting the Good Nonetheless, I WILL be in that number when millions gather this Saturday to STAND UP to Monsanto, and STAND FOR life, nature, and the heart and soul of who we are. To put it bluntly, Monsanto -- in its perverse desire to own and control all the seeds in the world -- is a true evil force that seeks to impose the heartless values of the machine on humanity and nature.

9/11: From State of Emergency to State of Emergent Seeing It's been ten years since the Twin Towers attacks initiated the never-ending War on Terror. In the Orwellian logic that can only take hold in an atmosphere of fear, we have been collectively "convinced" that only totalitarianism can preserve our freedom. However, there is a deep awakening afoot, an "evolutionary upwising" as people from all sides emerge from the matrix of politics as usual to seek real answers...

Swami Beyondananda's State of the Universe Address 2010 Well, another 12-month episode of that long-running comedy of situations, Universe Knows Best, is in the can, and you'll be happy to know the show has been renewed for another season. The Producer thinks it's hilarious. However, if you're like most of us, you really had to strain to hear the laugh track in 2009. Certainly, there was plenty to not laugh about. Take our political system -- please!

Top Ten Reasons to Support Bernie Sanders There is an upwising afoot that may well bring the political climate change that got lost in a hopium haze eight years ago. The one candidate willing to confront the elephant (and donkey) in the living room -- pay-to-play politics where the unchecked, unbalanced, unmitigated power of money rules -- Bernie Sanders, is "berning" it up.

Come On Baby, Fight My Liar The American people have been "trained" to accept being lied to. The prevailing cliché of lying politicians is so universally accepted, that ... well, it's universally accepted, so much so that you can probably get nine out of ten Americans to agree that, yes politicians lie. By making "lying politicians" an indisputable truth, it becomes like army food in the old days...

Where Huff Post Draws the Line ... And Why We REALLY Need a People's Upwising Because these topics are verboten, we have a body politic susceptible to the most outrageous of ideas and theories because we cannot trust the mainstream media to tell the truth. In a certain regard, the body politic must be kept ignorant at all costs and that ignorance has caused us to betray our own founding documents...

The Audacity of Hopelessness -- Only We the People Can End "Futilism" This is the perfect time to abandon all hope in the Democratic Party and its entrenched misleadership, and to concede that the oligarchy won the game it so blatantly and brutally fixed. No, the Democrats cannot out-Republican the Republicans, even if they shred their last shred of conscience.

The Signs of the Upwising Are Everywhere! People Are Waking Up, Left and Right Now that the whistle-blowers have gotten things started, the corporate state and its media apparatus are doing an excellent job of exposing themselves. The "irony curtain" -- the invisible wall of impropaganda that separates we the people from the truth -- is showing serious frays, as more and more otherwise mainstream citizens are catching glimpses of the emperor's bare buttocks...

Who's In Charge of Who's In Charge? Why Changing the Political Game is the Only Game in Town Despite our nation's unique legacy, we the people have become addicted to powerlessness and dependence on a ruling elite whom we hope will trickle some wealth down onto us "pee-ons." But, as the Swami says, "the ruling class has flunked ruling class. They get an F." Whether that "F" stands for freedom or fascism is up to us and no one else.

FROM FASCISM TO FREEDOM: Stirring the Winds of Political Climate Change If and when our bombs begin falling on Iran, given our current limitations in navigating space and time, we will not be able to run the movie backward. The dead will still be dead, the destroyed will still be destroyed, and among the casualties will be our own open society. The damage will be irreversible, and in fact will have reversed 230 years of forward progress towards a just society, and a sane world.

The Democrats' Shocking Discovery: Voters Can Tell Difference Between Change and Chump Change! Shortly after last year's election, I wrote a piece entitled, "The Two-Party System: One Down and One to Go." The point was that in our current binary, bipolar system, all voters can really do is vote "yes" or "no" for the lesser of two weasels. Consequently, the political task of a burgeoning evolutionary upwising would be to dislodge first one, then the other political party that had long outlived its uselessness.

The Transpartisan Moment: Join the Upwising! We are living in what Tom Paine would have called "soul-trying" times. In the face of multiplying crises - economic, ecologic, political and spiritual - it's becoming more apparent that fundamental change is required. The good news is, what is needed isn't revolution, but evolution. The other news is, this evolutionary alternative must be clearly expressed, carefully developed, and made tangible to the millions ...

Sometimes A Cigar Is Just A Cigar In the wake of the tragic and senseless bombings in Boston this past Monday, three "usual suspects" emerged: It was the Muslims. Signs of Evolutionary Upwising - The Upside of Apocalypse These challenging times have been described as "apocalyptic" and I say ... that's perfect because the original meaning of the word apocalypse is "lifting of the veils". It is now time to bring down the "irony curtain" and end the most toxic "don't ask, don't tell" policy of all - where we promise not to ask our government about its dark shadow, and it promises not to tell us.

NPR's "Weakened Edition" -- and What We Can Do Anyway This is simply an expression of the "kinder and gentler" form of totalitarianism where anything that challenges the authority of the corporate state (i.e., the coercive power of government in the service of big money) is simply ignored, and therefore dies from marginalization. Yes, totalitarianism ... or if you prefer a more creative term, "neo-feudalism".

From Emergency to Emerge 'n See - The Upwising Is Gaining Momentum Every year on this date, the "impropaganda" machine reminds Americans why we've been enlisted in an "endless war". How "Pravda" Reported Bernie's Win in Michigan Fortunately, there is an upwising afoot and more and more Americans recognize the sad truth that our press is more interested in crowd control than truth. Swami Beyondananda To Speak At Conspiracy Con - Oh, and the Issue Isn't Conspiracy... It's Con's Piracy Seeing the mechanisms of power "naked" can be shocking, to say the least. So it's understandable why the phrase "conspiracy theory" is used as a dismissal attack by those unwilling (or unable) to confront the unconfrontable. I mean, if you have credible evidence that our government killed John Kennedy and Martin Luther King, or allowed the 9/11 attacks to happen, what do you do about it? How do you "be" with it?

It's time for the upwising of awareness and upwelling of love to burst into action. It's time to address the political climate crisis.

Politics Inside and Outside the Matrix Revisited Disempowerment and disillusionment seem to be the two concurrent emotional states of disheartened progressives these days. However, disillusionment -- the shattering of illusory hope in favor of a realistic and positive focus for action -- is the source of genuine empowerment. The most empowering thought is this: There's nobody to do it but us. We are the leaders we've been waiting for.
