READY ON DAY ONE!!! In order to be READY ON DAY ONE, as both Hillary Clinton and John McCain claim they will be, you have to be ready a long time before that. You have to come in with a plan. You have to come with a good organization. You have to understand the issues and problems and have some ideas of how to deal with them. OBAMA is the only candidate who will be READY ON DAY ONE, as he is the only one dealing in reality.

The Myths and Harsh Effects of Bush's Economic Class War George Bush came into office. There was a recession almost immediately. Officially it began in March of 2001 and, officially, it ended eight months later. The causes of that recession are vague and amorphous, generally credited to the "business cycle."

The Road to Esfahan This insightful article discusses very clearly why an assault on Iran by the Bush/Cheney regime will be a disaster of epic proportions. As one can gather upon reading, it is obvious that Iran is a country we need to be talking to, not threatening with destruction.

Victory! For Bush! In the past few months, against all odds, Bush has scored two incredible victories in Iraq. They are, of course, over his favorite enemies, the media and the American public. Now, at last, the enemy in Iraq is being called Al Qaeda!

Iraq Cost Benefit Analysis The War in Iraq has cost about $453,000,000,000 (four hundred and fifty-three billion dollars) to date. That's pretty hard to grasp. Especially on my income and probably on yours. Let's bring that home and make it a little more understandable.

Lies, Lies, and More Lies, in History-Illiterate America George Bush – and other Iraq War supporters – have argued that if we withdraw from Iraq the result will be like the slaughters – the killing fields –in Cambodia. Here are the facts.

Coming Out of the Republican Closet; Queer for Segregation One of the pillars of the contemporary Republican Party has been racism. They have made great efforts to mask it with euphemisms so that they can use code words to let anti-black voters know what side they're on and at the same time piously deny that they are being racist. Their code words have been that they are for 'states rights,' 'law and order,' 'welfare reform,' and against 'affirmative action,' 'quotas..."

The Mad, Mad, Mad World of Mitt Romney Mitt Romney, in the Republican presidential candidates debate last night, said that the reason we went to war in Iraq was that Saddam Hussein would not let weapons inspectors in. That's right up there with Gerald Ford's gaffe, saying that "There is no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe."

Profiles in Cowardice I called Senator Hillary Clinton's office to ask how she was going to vote on the Iraq supplemental appropriations bill without benchmarks. The staffer at the other end of the line said was studying the bill. The rest of the conversation went like this, and I swear on my parents' graves that it's true. Q: She voted for the war and now she doesn't want to vote to get out of it? Clinton's Staffer: Yes.

War Dispatches from the War On Stupidity The strategy for Iraq is still: "We'll stand down, when they stand up!" Why can't they stand up? For starters, we dismantled their army, their police, and their government.

A secret dispatch from the war on stupidity The Senate is about to pass an intelligence bill that calls for spending $45,000,000,000,000 (forty-five billion dollars) a year – not just once, year after year – on intelligence. Bush is threatening to veto it because it has provisions that might let congress know what they're getting for $45,000,000,000,000 a year. He feels that only he should know. It's time to seriously rethink this whole 'intelligence' thing.

Ah, Alberto Gonzales About a year from now pundits and instant historians will point back at the firing of the federal prosecutors and say, 'That's where the impeachment began.'I'm glad that it began with, or at least around, Alberto.

The Sex Life Of Presidents It's time for a national debate on the sex lives of presidents. Put it on the table, get it out in the open, talk about what we're talking about. When we elect a president, are we looking for someone to lead the national monogamy crusade?

Failure Is Not An Option Failure is not an option. It's standard! On every policy we make! Name a policy, and it's got failure! Guaranteed! Or your government back!
