Trump: Making America Dread Again Trump's marauders are raging through one agency after another, revoking, freezing, or suspending lifesaving health/safety protections. Weaker job safety, auto safety, air and water pollution standards, and pesticide protections spell death, sickness, and illnesses with their attendant family anguish and costs, including to taxpayers.

Can the Politicians Heed the Lessons of Hurricane Harvey? While Trump tweets and hopefully reconsiders his earlier cruel budget cuts for FEMA and other life-saving federal agencies -- such as the Centers for Disease Control and the EPA -- the people are swinging into action on the ground. May they swing into wise and just action in the next elections -- both as new candidates and, high horizon, informed voters. For there is a much better America to be had.

A Clarion Call for our Country's Pillars to Demand Justice Given the retrograde pits inhabited by our ruling politicians and the avaricious over-reach of myopic big-business bosses, the self-described pillars of our society must step up to reverse the decline of our country. Stand tall in support of justice in these trying times.

Trump's Hundred Days of Rage and Rapacity The Lawless-loving corporatists have worked overtime to besmirch the word "regulation" (or law and order for corporations) and edify the word "deregulation," to help bring about their dream state of dismantled or weakened regulation.

Why the Democrats Keep Losing the Congress Why isn't the Democratic Party landsliding the worst and cruelest Republican Party in the past 162 years? Just take a glance at their record votes and you'll wonder why the Republican representatives don't just incorporate themselves and be done with any pretense that they are real people.

Harvard Lawless School and You If you cannot use the law to pursue your rights -- say health coverage -- under fine-print contracts or gain adequate compensation for your wrongful injuries, you are being strapped by lawlessness through the design of the power elites. They, of course, live under their own rules -- monetarily greased through their plunder of the political economy --

The Long-Distance Rebound of Bernie Sanders Bernie Sanders is facing the verdict of closed primaries in many states which bar independent voters from voting for any of the Democratic or Republican candidates. Pointedly, Senator Sanders won only one of the five states with primaries on April 26, 2016: Rhode Island. Why? Because that state has an open primary allowing independent voters, heavily pro-Sanders, to carry him to victory.

CEO Richard Master Masterminds Medicare for All Just when the prospects for single-payer or full Medicare for everyone, with free choice of doctors and hospitals, appear to be going nowhere, from Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley comes a stirring that could go national and make single-payer a reality.

In the Public Interest: Monsanto and Its Promoters vs. Freedom of Information As the FOIA approaches its 50th year, it faces a disturbing backlash from scientists tied to the agrichemical company Monsanto and its allies. In March, the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified the herbicide glyphosate -- which is sprayed as Roundup on many genetically engineered crops -- as "probably carcinogenic to humans."

Mass Media: Raise Your Expectations for Your Country The mass media, with usual exceptions, have allowed themselves to be pulled down to the level of the political circus. If the Republican Party's early primary campaigns for the presidential nomination had an elephant and a clown car, Ringling Brothers would be in trouble.

Republicans Support Massive Tax Evasion by Starving IRS Budget The taxpayers elected you -- and therefore pay your salary -- with the expectation that you would be responsible legislators, but your behavior as Committee and Subcommittee chairs, along with that of House Speaker Boehner, regarding the IRS has been wholly irresponsible.

Why US brain drain harms developing countries Nobody is forcing skilled workers from less developed countries to come to the US other than dictators, but if the US wants peace, stability and better livelihoods to have a chance, it has to tell its giant corporations to pull back on their gluttonous appetite to recruit the "cream of the crop" from these countries and invest in American skills.

"The Country You Destroyed": A Letter to George W. Bush The Bush/Cheney sociocide of Iraq, together with the loss of tens of thousands of U.S. soldiers' lives, countless injuries and illnesses, registers, with the passage of time, no recognition by you that you did anything wrong nor have you accepted responsibility for the illegality of your military actions without a Congressional declaration of war.

Congressional "Mad Dogs" Render the Powerful Powerless Why have all these power brokers suddenly become powerless, including all the business lobbies? One explanation is that hyped-up Tea Party activists can threaten primaries against moderate Republicans. In addition these "mad dogs" are in a feeding frenzy and cannot see any reality beyond their pack.

People Want Full Medicare for All You'd think Ted Cruz would have used his time to talk specifically about the suffering that uninsured people and their children are going through, especially in the Lone Star State. Or about what could replace Obamacare other than his repeated "free market" solution, which is to say the "pay or die" profiteering, tax-subsidized corporate system.

Romney Is a Corporation Masquerading As an Individual for President If the Democrats are anything but inept and defeatist, they will wrap Romney around Congressman Paul Ryan, his vice-presidential nominee, and recover the Congress in November. The Romney-Ryan campaign is now hanging by a few threads, unmasked even before those millions of American voters who dutifully vote for politicians who disrespect and betray their economic plight and political powerlessness once in office.
