Of God Given Rights The point of the article is that we should not take our rights for granted using divine providence as a moral crutch. The separation between church and state is being challenged constantly in this country and a very vocal fundamentalist right is gaining ground. The lack of education of a vast number of Americans on their own history is fertile ground for this.
