Following a serious injury, Jerry was inspired to rededicate his life to working on environmental issues full time. Drawing on his experience in the jewelry industry and jewelry design, in 2006 Jerry began developing eco-friendly sustainable jewelry manufacturing techniques and has designed collections for StopGlobalWarming.org, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and WorldTrust.
In 2008 Jerry joined Cucoloris Films in Venice, California as Executive Producer of Environmental Projects. Jerry works with Al Gore's Alliance For Climate Protection, 350.org, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, StopGlobalWarming.org, and the Rain Forest Action Network (RAN). Jerry is a consultant and Producer for Explore.org. Cope's work has been featured in numerous documentary films and on Democracy Now, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and Al Jazeera.

NASA Data Strengthens Reports of Toxic Rain on the Gulf Coast From BP Spill Government data collected during the oil spill last summer, which is now being released by one of the scientists on the NASA team, strengthens claims that oil and dispersant was brought onshore in rain during the spill. This means, if validated, that coastal populations are being exposed to chemical poisoning.

Much Ado About Nothing: EDF Fracking Study Misguided and Irrelevant The recent Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences on methane gas released by the fracking process of natural-gas extraction was narrow in scope and the conclusions it offered that have subsequently been used in support of fracking as less harmful in terms of greenhouse gas emissions than other carbon fuels are erroneous and irrelevant.
