I spent the 50s and 60s in an upwardly mobile household full of food and kids, but focused on success. From there I went to Drew University in Northern NJ, which was serious culture shock for a city girl from Upstate, but I received 2 gifts there that have stood by me for a lifetime, the Anti-War Movement and a history of religion from Seminary teachers who normally teach the teachers. Since then I have raised a son by myself and, after a harrowing recovery, plied a career in computers that brought us out of poverty and desperation.
I learned, and teach, Yoga and Mindfulness, a version of Iyengar style Yoga where form is everything, but connecting with yourself is more important than any athletic capability. And I have an abiding interest in religion. I have practiced and studied more than one, and have found myself a Buddhist.
With regard to the world at large, I missed a lot, but after the devastating and misplaced US revenge on Afghanistan in 2001, I found my way back to the anti-war movement and early aspirations as a writer. Since then, I have followed the international news closely, traveled to some of the hot spots, and read some critical writers with huge respect, verging on a crush in some cases. But I also think that what I have to say matters. And, I hope others will too.

Hitchens off the Wall on Iran and Israel Yet another response to Jeffrey Goldberg's "Point of No Return" published in The Atlantic this month. I respond to a video embedded in the article of a Jeffrey Goldberg interview with Christopher Hitchens. The video provides a context for the tone of the rest of the article, and as such, should be addressed.

Targeting Iran Again And Again And Again . . . . This article analyses an extremely biased Congressional hearing on whether Iran is a threat to the US. It deconstructs the biased and irrelevant testimony by witnesses who are not qualified to speak to the subject, and analyses the real threat Iran might present.

Pakistan Pays the Price of Defiance; Obama Shows His True Colors Pakistan is insisting that the U.S. end their campaign of Drone attacks in North Waziristan before they will reopen the supply routes. The U.S. has no intention of ending these attacks and they are out of patience with the discussion. Insults to members of the Pakistani Government accompany a vicious bombing campaign in North Waziristan killing 30 people following the NATO Conference.
