Berlin conference on Libya may not resolve long-lasting conflict without reconsidering current status quo In the changing environment, the Skhirat Agreement should have been reformed to bring the document into line with the reality of today's Libya. But it has not. Unsurprisingly, financial discrimination against Cyrenaica and Fezzan resulted in social resentment and resistance from local authorities, which in fact were disobeying Tripoli's government.

Erdogan's Cronies Leech Off Libya's Oil and Blood It's no secret that Erdogan is desperate in his desire to restore the Ottoman empire to its former glory. However, the only goal he pursues in Libya is to leech off the country's natural resources by pulling the strings attached to its puppet GNA - ironically enough, the one that provided legitimate grounds for the Turkish invasion.
