Maybe Shakespeare Really Didn't Write the Plays. Really... Like most people, from time to time I've come across the accusations that someone else really wrote Shakespeare's plays, and have dismissed them at face value, as nonsense. I've, of course, done so without any knowledge whatsoever of the whole question at hand (who was it that said "Ignorance is the natural state of the mind"?)

My Ultra-Conservative Neighbor Just Shovelled My Driveway Bonnie is a lifelong Republican, who voted for Donald Trump. Bonnie's well aware that not only am I pretty left-wing, but that I also meditate for hours a day, and am pretty heavily into Eastern religion and philosophy. But, her son (who lives in her house with his girlfriend) just snow-blew my entire sidewalk and driveway.

Biden Already Has "Unity", Republican Appeasement Can Only Undo It The country is already as unified as it's going to be at the moment. And, thank goodness, that unity is based on the best of what this country has always stood for (if not always achieved).

Trump Could Still Be Jailed for Sedition Even if Not Convicted in the Senate While the impeachment trial in Congress is definitely necessary, if we are truly serious about holding Donald Trump accountable for his attempt to overthrow the Government, the last word should be in the Halls of Justice not just Congress.

Steven Schmidt on the Republicans' Clear Advantage Upon Becoming the Nation's First Fascist Party "Lincoln Project" co-founder, and former John McCain presidential campaign manager, Steven Schmidt, frames what happened in November, as well as the preceding five years, in a way that I have yet to hear anyone do so clearly, comprehensibly and with such terrifying clarity.

Saved by the Plague? If we had entered 2020 with no coronavirus threat or epidemic, despite Trump's record and rhetoric over the preceding 3 years, he would have been unbeatable come election time. It took his bringing a plague on us to stop him from winning.

Monica Lewinsky on Shame and Public Humiliation What struck me most about this Ted Talk is that precisely what she was warning about, was actually brought to fruition just months later by the media phenomenon of Donald Trump. "A marketplace has emerged where public humiliation is a commodity and shame is an industry." After listening to her, it's much easier to understand how this fact was critical in the electing of our current President.

A Truly Global "All Along the Watch Tower" A very interesting (and surprisingly touching) version of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watch Tower" with musicians from literally all over the world, adding to the song from their respective countries and cultures. It features Warren Haynes (at the very end) who was one of the founding members of the Allman Brothers Band. Quite tastefully edited and truly memorable.
