Are U.S. Political Party Splits Coming? Trump has no underlying political ideology. As a businessman who has had many ups and downs, he does what works at the moment. He is thus primarily a showman, who happens to running heavily, as is well known, on racism, xenophobia, misogyny and authoritarianism. Trump will either win the Presidency or he will become an historical anomaly, fading (slowly, perhaps, because he is so loud) into the mists of history.

The Three Historical Stages of Anti-Semitism After two millennia of religious, then political, anti-Semitism, both based on myth, we now must confront a new form of anti-Semitism, for which policies of successive right-wing governments of the State of Israel have unfortunately managed to provide a rich base in reality.

How the DLC Democrats Helped to Make Donald Trump Presidential Candidate since the Democrats did nothing to expose them for what they were and are, it is all too easy for Trump to just put all the hate, fear, xenophobia, and prejudice, right out here on the (campaign) stump, for everyone to see. In other words, the Democrats helped clear the way for Trump not only by not fighting the Republicans on the issues-of-prejudice from the beginning, but in certain sectors, facilitating them.

Cruzbio's Cuba, and Selling the System Would the Cuban people really like to have the Cruzbio "U.S." model imposed on them, and then lose everything they have gained over the years, in return for having an "opposition party" or two, which if it/they were to be modelled on the Repubs so close to the Cruzbio model, could actually run on racism and homophobia, while destroying the national health and free national education? I don't think so.

9/11 and the "28 Pages" Why would the Saudi Royal Family be pushing for the document's release? "It's just a police report, a collection of fact and speculation, with no conclusions." It's all about 9/11 and the possible involvement of U.S. government officials at a very high level in it.

Winning Abortion Wars: 4 Words Needed for the Battle: "Religious Authoritarianism" and "Republican Party" Whether the penalties, were abortion to be formally criminalized, would fall on the person performing the abortion or on the woman receiving it is irrelevant. The anti-abortion-rights forces are engaging in Religious Authoritarianism. They are using their religious beliefs as the foundation for their campaign to change the law governing everyone.
Many of these women on the right have brains inversely proportional to their looks. It's a matter for sociologists and cultural historians to figure why Republicans and the Right, in general, attract (or generate?] so many of these Stepford wife specimens, From ImagesAttr

Republican Genius: Democratic Complicity Virtually every major problem our nation faces is either the outcome of Republican policy or has been made worse by it. The "dysfunctional government in Washington" has been created by purposeful Repub. policy that Mitch McConnell began to set up even before Barack Obama's first inauguration. Republicans pin all of the problems that basically Republicans initiated on "the government" and "the Democrats."

Why the Repub. Establishment (such as it is) Doesn't Like Trump The primary reason why the Repub. establishments are against Trump is that he obviously would be uncontrollable and unpredictable. They don't care so much about the wild statements as they do about the fact that so far he has run on his own money and his phenomenal ability to get free air time. So, although this would change in the general election campaign, at least for now he doesn't owe them anything.

The Republican Platform: The Democratic (non-) Response Trump yells and screams. He takes full advantage of the free media which his natural acting ability draws to him like flies to fly-paper, while at the same time he is often lashing out at that same media when it doesn't treat him quite right (by asking him tough questions). But so far, from the Democrats -- silence.

Antonin Scalia: a Bundle of Contradictions the only thing Scalia was consistent with was his consistent pursuit of his far-right-wing goals. He was an "originalist" when it suited his politics; not one when it didn't. Or one can more kindly say, please do think of Scalia as an originalist -- that is except when he wasn't.

Torture, the Republican Party and the Constitution The use of torture by US authorities is simply unconstitutional. Under article VI of the U.S. Constitution, as treaties signed and ratified by the U.S. government, both Conventions are part of "the supreme law of the land and [further] the judges of every state shall be bound by them." This, not arguments over whether it "works" or doesn't, is the central one for this country and its political leadership.

The GOP: the Party of Hate (and "Religion") The United States continues to exist as a racist nation precisely because one of its two principal political parties runs on it. Can you imagine where our nation would be if this situation did not exist? Can you imagine if both major political parties rejected racism as doctrine and ran on the real issues that affect us? if the Republicans had to run on what they really stand for they would not remain standing for long.

The Republican-Christian Alliance Begins to Come Out If you don't find this philosophy of life in a man who wants to be President of all of the people of the United States totally frightening, you should. Even more frightening for me is that the likelihood of the mainstream media asking him about his theology and how it would govern his mode of governing as President is about as high as the likelihood that the Doctrine of Global Warming is a myth.

The "Iran Attack," Jan. 12, 2016: Whose False Flag, if any? The "Iran Attack on the U.S. Navy?" The timing, on the day of President Obama's last State of the Union Message, in which he is apparently going to feature the Iran Nuclear Deal as one of his major achievements, seems more than coincidental, at least to me? False flag, anyone?

The Democratic Party Debate, 12/19/15, and the GOP ebates were carefully arranged by the Clinton Campaign's de facto chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, otherwise known as the Chairwoman (sic) of the Democratic National Committee, to be at a time when the fewest people could possibly be watching. We would not want anything--like Bernie Sanders' candidacy, for example--to get in the way of the coronation of Hillary Rodham Clinton as the Democratic Party's nominee, would we?

Terrorism, US Politics, and the US Media in the United States, acts that can be described as "terroristic" such as "the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, especially for political purposes," or "the use of violent acts to frighten the people in an area as a way of trying to achieve a political goal" have one very peculiar characteristic. They have been done, or made to appear to have been done, by Muslims.

Trump, the Right-Ward Imperative, and the Republican Party The Republican Party has become the open captive of the Rightward Imperative. It is moving in a direction that is increasingly dangerous for the future of the country: one in which fascism could be imposed through Constitutional means.

A Set of Tweets, Over Time I post tweets on occasion, at the The Political Junkies tweet site. Since I am not limited to 118 characters after the URL (and I always start with a URL), I have edited them to make them more readable. Also, if anyone can explain to me how any URL is made by Twitter to fit into 22-24 characters, I would be very happy to know that.

The Modern Middle East Imperialist War III: What's it All About The United States is now in the midst of MMEI No. III. This one is rather more complicated, and not easy to figure out, since there seem to be so many sides involved, with shifting alliances, sometimes from month-to-month. this multi-pronged, multi-front battle has at its center Iran and the hatred of key Arab states and Turkey for it.

Fascism in the 21st Century: Part II The American media, conceits aside, in the complete hands of the corporate plutocracy, are simply one more propaganda platform -- perhaps the most effective -- to bolster and disseminate the prevailing capitalist ideology. The true left, minuscule in its media presence, forever fragmented and improvident in strategic regards, has nothing to respond with, no instruments with which to access the public debate.
