![]() Trump and Treason? Really?" There is increasing speculation that Trump, facing both a series of for him insurmountable problems and declining poll numbers (much more important to him than the problems) will "pull a Johnson" and decline to run for re-election. Previously I speculated that given the legal problems that he would face upon leaving office, he would resign, and leave the country. Now, given the possible treason charge that becomes more likely. ![]()

![]() Trump Quits (Could it Be?)" Trump is a lifetime loser, as illustrated in previous columns of mine. Trump thought he was going to kick off his run for reelection in Tulsa bigly. But, it was a lousy start. The polls are running against him. He is out-of-control of each of the Three Major Crises facing our nation: the Pandemic, the next Great Depression, and the Campaign for the End to Institutional Racism. My guess about what he will do? Quit, all 'round.

![]() Trump's Warriors, His Magical Thinking (further), and 'Tulsa' Trump simply cannot understand the nature of COVID-19 as a viral disease, how it infects people, how it is transmitted, thus how it spreads in a population, and so on and so forth. But he views "his people" as "warriors" in the fight against the pandemic, as if the virus were human. This sort of thinking has led to policies that not only don't control the disease, but actually help spread it. Which leads us to "Tulsa." ![]()

![]() Trump Reveals His 2020 Platform Trump faces some serious headwinds in his 2020 campaign the COVID-19 pandemic which his actions only make worse; the resulting Recession/oncoming Depression, which his actions do little to ameliorate. And now he has the massive national movement around the issue of institutional racism. And so Trump, the racist, has had to very quickly devise a platform to deal with the threat to a 2nd term. That is what this column is about. ![]()

![]() Institutional Racism, the George Floyd Murder, and the Fascist Threat The George Floyd murder is another in the never-ending series of police murders of black people, a modern version of lynching. This one, as is very well-known, has brought forward an ongoing series of demonstrations in city after city all over the country. There has been some occasional looting and arson, not associated with the marchers. Trump wants to call in the military. This column deals with the issues conjointly. ![]()

![]() Why Trump Wants to Still be President at 12:01PM on Jan. 20, 2021 --- His Personal Reasons Trump is a life-long loser (see my OEN column: "Trump-loser"). He knows, for example, that he didn't fairly win in 2016, but rather did it with Russian help. Therefore he is desperate to win again in 2020, and then, to show that he really did, he will become Dictator. But that will still not make him feel right, because that can happen only with massive Trumpublican(C) cheating. And thus he will still bear the label loser. ![]()

![]() Infectious Disease Science and D.J. Trump, Part 2 This is the 2nd part of a two-part series on Trump and the corona virus focusing on the completely unscientific TrumpResponse. It reviews the epidemiology of the disease (epidemiology being the study of the distribution of disease in populations). And it also discusses how Trump's ignorance/ignoring of the basic facts of what I call the Trumpidemic2020(C) has led to the increasingly horrible outcomes we are experiencing. ![]()

![]() Infectious Disease Science and D.J. Trump, Part 1 The COVID-19 pandemic is a complicated problem, although the solution to controlling its spread is fairly straightforward, as has been demonstrated by a number of countries that have been reasonably effective in controlling it. That number does not include the U.S., for two reasons. First, the nature of the disease. Second is a massive road-block to doing so named Donald J. Trump. This column discusses that relationship. ![]()

![]() Tara Reade and the Sexual Assault Charge Against former Vice-President Biden: A Commentary Ms. Tara Reade has lodged a charge of sexual assault against former V-P Biden. 1st, it should be fully investigated. 2nd, the V-P has attempted to initiate that investigation in the Senate files. Guess what? McConnell said "no way." 3rd, the Repubs. are screaming "Kavanaugh-Ford." Dr. Ford testified under oath. Ms. Reade has said she will. But the real comparable is Trump. If the V-P is to be investigated, so must Trump be. ![]()

![]() Nikki Haley, Trump, Let the Govs. do It, and the Constitution, Part 2 This is Part 2 of a series on Gov./Amb/Pres. Nominee Wanna/be Nikki Haley. that considers her support for Pres. Trump's "let the Governors do it" for both testing and materials supply. In fact, the Constituion's Statement of Purpose, the Preamble, simply does not support this approach. A Postscript considers Trump's visit to a mask-making plant in Arizona during which he described the U.S. as "warriors" going into battle. ![]()

![]() Trump's Magical Thinking Pt. 3: 'There Shall be No National Testing Program --- and the Virus Will Magically Go Away' This is the 3rd column on Trump's Magical Thinking. Beginning in childhood, it has propelled this ignorant, unintelligent, and poorly educated man to where he now sits. Trump has lived a life of enemies. They have always been people. The Magic Tricks he used to defeat them and move forward has been the subject of the previous columns. This one focuses on a new trick, designed to make the pandemic go away (in his mind). ![]()

![]() Donald Trump, the Trumpidemic2020©, and His Magical Thinking, Part 2 This is the second in a three-part series on Trump and his Magic Show. They are: The Protectors; "Always attack; Never Defend;" When all else fails, sue; Never be responsible to anyone; All adversaries are enemies: don't negotiate, just crush them with; You are History's Greatest Con Man. ![]() Trump, Testing, and His Magical Thinking Trump has gotten through life using a box of magic tricks: his father's money, "Always Attack; Never Defend; "Just sue, as needed;" never be responsible to anybody; being surrounded by enemies, don't negotiate, just crush them; as History's Greatest Con Man, just use that bag of tricks. But, his enemies have always been people. This time it's a virus. The old magic doesn't work. So he has come up with something new. ![]()

![]() Nikki Haley, Trump, and Let the Govs. Do It, Part 1 About a week and-a-half ago, former Gov./former UN Ambass./future Repub.-Pres.-Nominee-Wannabe, about the pandemic and who should be in charge, said "Let the Governors do it." And I published the original col. on what is now a two-part series on buzzflash.com. Then Trump said no, "I'm in charge." Then he changed his mind again. And so things really got confused. And so that column became two columns, the first of which is here

![]() The US Ruling Class and Trump's Personality and Politics: A Fatal Attraction On April 10, 2020 Former Amb./Gov./future Repub. Presidential-Candidate-Wanna-Be Nikki Haley published a New York Times Op-Ed in which she set forth her arguments as to why the pandemic response should almost entirely belpmg to the Governors. Elsewhere I published a riposte to that, based on the Preamble to the Constitution. Trump has taken two different positions on the matter. This is the first of a two-parter dealing with it ![]()

![]() One-and-a-Half Months in the Life of Trump; 10 Days in the Life (and death) of New York City As is well known, starting in January and running into March, President Trump continually down-played the any potential danger facing the United States from the outbreak of what has come to be known as the COVID-19 pandemic (or the Trumpidemic2020[C]). This column juxtaposes a series of Trump statements made during that time-period, with a series of events that took place around New York City in the latter part of March, 2020. ![]()

![]() The Deconstruction of the Administrative State and the Trumpidemic2020© A major factor in creating the reality of the Trumpidemic2020(C) in the United States, above and beyond the appearance of COVID-19 virus in China, is how the Federal government, crippled by Steve Bannon's Doctrine of the Deconstruction of the Administrative State, was able to respond to it. The deficit of professionalism was of course compounded by a variety of "Trump being himself" factors. This column considers these issues ![]()

![]() An Ounce of Prevention --- and Trump Could Have Been on a Glide-path the Re-election If Trump had been able to recognize the impending COVID-19 epidemic for what it might become, and had then been able to order the early initiation of the public health/prevention program that could have been put in place to alleviate its predictable severity, in terms of the health of the nation and the economy, he would have become a public health hero,on a glide path to re-election. Obviously that didn't happen. Here's why. ![]()

![]() The COVID-19 Epidemic and the Disastrous Federal Government Response: It Ain't Just Trump Trump has been characterizing the oncoming COVID-19 epidemic as some combination of Obama's fault, a Democratic hoax and/or re-run of impeachment, and etc. In particular there has been a major gap in testing. Some speculate that that relates to Trump's concerns about his re-election chances. But there has also been traditional modern Repub. resistance to "big government." This column explores the relationship. ![]()

![]() Is the UK Tabloid Racist Hounding of Meghan Markle Just a Murdoch Diversion to Allow the Tories to Seize More Power? There has been a long battle over the UK remaining in the EU: "Brexit." They are now using their majority to make major changes in the UK Constitution.
