I have been saying for the longest time that I wish people would learn to accept selective words as simply hot vibrating air. Today, on the Martin Luther King Holiday, I was doing a show with renown Houston Progressive activist Neil Aquino when in the middle of the show two callers performed two orchestrated calls to "remind me" that I was black using derogatory terms. They likely did not get the reaction they expected.

I learned a lot speaking to three Cubans from a political perspective with points of views that were different but that intersected. They retreat back into their bunkers irrespective of election outcome. The reality is that change is slow and requires a lot of work. And most of that work is not flashy, sexy, nor exciting. A war is simply a marketing bonanza for weapons manufacturers, who supply both sides as families on all sides are destroyed. Will we allow ourselves to be played again?
