(3 comments) SHARE Friday, February 20, 2009 To Feminists for Life: Let speakers fund their own trips
Instead of sending speakers to a myriad of conferences, send your hard-earned dollars to numerous children's agencies whose budgets have been drastically cut because of this economic downturn. They can really use your help.
(3 comments) SHARE Thursday, February 19, 2009 Due to failing economy: Child abuse cases on the rise and murder
How many more children will die due to this ailing economy? Those who refuse in Washington, must answer to these children, but those who have died can no longer hear them. Those who promoted deregulation and this unbridled free-market system are partly responsible for their deaths. There in lies the real criminality.
(2 comments) SHARE Wednesday, February 18, 2009 Will the children of today become the next 'Greatest Generation'?
How we will all come out of this is still the great unknown, but what we as boomers who are now parents must do, must teach our children is this lesson: Nothing is owed to you and if you truly wish something, it is up to you to figure out how to get it as you do grow up.
(8 comments) SHARE Tuesday, February 17, 2009 To Nadya Suleman the care of your 14 children is your responsibility
Suleman should forget about going back to college and get to work somehow to pay down a $50,000 dollar debt she incurred in student loans. She must somehow think of ways of making money to care for her children or lose them.
(1 comments) SHARE Tuesday, February 17, 2009 Norm Coleman should get out of incoming Senator, Al Franken's senate seat
As I just counted the days since our last general election it has been 105 days and the Minnesota senate seat formerly held by Norm Coleman has YET to be decided? What 'irreparable harm' is or has been done to former Senator Norm Coleman? That term 'irreparable harm' was used within the Bush V. Gore case.
SHARE Monday, February 16, 2009 Expanding Route 347 on Long Island, NY does not make for a green project
They think by adding paths for bikes and walkers as well as medians to grow trees is truly what is needed in order to call it a green project? Long Island is still the land of the automobile and we are rewarding this bad habit given the fact our bus system here in Suffolk County has not been funded adequately.
SHARE Saturday, February 14, 2009 Is consumerism and suburbia sustainable?...Lessons from the Amish
I have to wonder after any blackout occurs such as in Kentucky, if folks learn anything from it. Or do they go about life as usual, jumping in their SUVs to head to their local or not so local Wal-Marts to purchase vast amounts of goods they want, but not necessarily they need.
(2 comments) SHARE Saturday, February 14, 2009 The passage of the Stimulus Bill: Words like infrastructure truly excite me
Some women can look to a man wearing a Giorgio Armani suit on Wall Street and say, does he ever look sharp, but to me, let me see a man wearing jeans and a hard-hat. The cologne they wear is the cologne of a hard-days work.
(2 comments) SHARE Friday, February 13, 2009 A message to Republicans and others: This economic crisis is our new security threat
those like McConnell, Boehner, Limbaugh, Coulter and any within the mainstream media who are talking down this stimulus package and President Barack Obama's presidency itself, you are all a threat to our national security. Even those who smite President Obama such as Senator Gregg did the day before the Stimulus Bill is to be voted on are as well.
(16 comments) SHARE Thursday, February 12, 2009 Nadya Suleman is a one woman mini-bailout: Taxpayers may bear the cost
When the State of California is roughly $42 billion-dollars in debt without the cost of the care of these octuplets being disclosed, the care for them may in fact fall upon the citizens of that state as well Americans living coast-to-coast.
(2 comments) SHARE Wednesday, February 11, 2009 Fight back against Republican obstructionists by contacting Pres. Barack Obama
As the main stream media gives them the bully pulpit to Specter, Snowe and Collins, let us remind them through a supportive letter to the president, we stand on Ms. Hughes side and not theirs. Let us remind them, they are derelict in their duty to all of us!
(34 comments) SHARE Saturday, February 7, 2009 The $780 billion stimulus bill can be paid down if we legalized marijuana
With the amount we can tax this commodity with, plus how much we can rake in growing our own crops as well as how much we can save in prosecuting any offenders: That $780 billion dollar stimulus bill can be paid down in no time.
(9 comments) SHARE Thursday, February 5, 2009 To the Republican members of the senate....Pass the stimulus package NOW!
All of you who grab the cameras act as if your party won on November 4th, 2008 when the complete opposite happened. We as a people exiled you. No, you did not get your trip to Disney World, but were exiled to the farthest reaches of this planet given your past and dismal record these past eight years.
(7 comments) SHARE Monday, February 2, 2009 Octuplets in California: Who will bear the financial cost for their care?
A doctor's motto is "First do no harm" and medically and ethically, they did. What happens if one, two or more will face any number of debilitating conditions due to this birth? They will be the ones made to suffer as these doctors fade into the background.
(4 comments) SHARE Friday, January 30, 2009 Rod Blagojevich: Who will be the next to be tried by the media?
In the end, I wish former Gov. Blagojevich my best wishes since I am not cheering his removal from office today. I am also waiting for who the next person to be tried by the media instead of in a court of law. Good luck, Mr. Blagojevich in finding impartial jurors since the media already tried you.
(4 comments) SHARE Thursday, January 29, 2009 The Republicans failed at listening to the personal and shame on them!
As the Republican members gathered in a mob-mentality to show themselves flexing their political muscle, what they failed to do was to listen to the individual voices of those who have lost their jobs. They failed at listening to the personal and for that, I say, shame on them!
(1 comments) SHARE Monday, January 26, 2009 To Senators McCain and Cornyn: President Barack Obama was correct in saying, "I won!"
It is time for these Republicans to get on board, lose whatever selfish pride they may have and get to work on behalf of we the people who handed your party a resounding defeat. After all, our memories are as long as an elephant and we do remember how devastating the Bush administration was along with the Republican Party who led this country with such brute force during the first six years of it.
