I'm disappointed by the "pay for play" atmosphere in American politics that has emerged today. As a researcher, amateur historian, writer and documentarist, I'm of the opinion that the Founding Fathers did not intend to equate free speech with paid advertising. The recent Supreme Court decision, by an activist court, is a disheartening and dangerous ruling (Citizens United) that will denigrate our political process even further. We need to eliminate paid political ads to restore free speech and return the democratic process to "We the People." Scott Spinucci has an MA from Marywood University, Scranton, PA and was an adjunct professor for three years in the Media and Information Technology Department at the University of Scranton. He is an independent media producer, writer and marketing adviser.
