A firm whose biggest previous job was building less than five miles of electrical line in Arizona was given the mammoth task of taking on a shattered electrical system that stretches over 2,400 miles. To award the contract to Whitefish, the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority ignored reciprocal agreements that could have brought in far more help far more quickly.

Polls: Media offer fake news, but news from Trump seen as phoniest of all Trump constantly attacks legitimate news organizations as fake news. But the StudySoup survey showed that nearly 60 percent of Americans consider what they're being fed from the Trump White House as the real fake news. No surprise there, as the Washington Post count of Trump's accumulated lies topped 1,300 by mid-October.

I am truly shaken by Kelly's Press Conference The media have fed into this belief that Kelly is somehow this Savior of our Republic. The White Knight -- literally White. The brave man who will wrestle Trump to the ground when he tries to burn down the universe. They covered for Kelly, they made him out to be somehow explaining Trump to us in a compassionate and clear way.

Breitbart, Palin spread fake news story blaming California fires on an immigrant man A collection of right-wing websites teamed up with half-term nitwit Sarah Palin to spread a fake news story that appeared to pin the Northern California wildfires that have tragically killed at least 40 people, onto an immigrant man who was arrested at a park in Sonoma, California. Jesus Fabian Gonzales -- who "often sleeps in the park and is well-known to law enforcement."

Corker: virtually all Senate Republicans know Trump is a liability. Impeachment coming? Because Corker is not running for re-election, he need not fear reprisals in the form of votes against him from the Trump cult -- so he's an ideal Republican to light the fuse for what must be done. He may be on the way out, but his vote is as good as any other senator's for 15 months.

Mueller looks for ways to pardon-proof his case against Trump Donald Trump has already demonstrated that he'll pardon anyone, even if that person is clearly guilty and even if a sentence hasn't yet been handed down. The pardoning of Joe Arpaio is a clear signal to those who took part in Trump-Russia that if they just keep their mouth's shut, a nice pardon is waiting for them when the special counsel comes around.

Joke's over: Sean Spicer hires a defense lawyer with a particularly interesting set of skills When Allen contacted Spicer to discuss his notes, he seemed to have hit a nerve because Spicer twice threatened to "contact appropriate legal authorities" if Allen contacted him again. Seems the appropriate legal authorities are going to be reaching out to Sean Spicer very, very soon -- if they haven't already.

Maria may have damaged the island, but Donald Trump is turning that disaster into a lingering catastrophe. More than half of the Americans on the island don't have safe drinking water, and after prolonged silence, Trump decided this would be a good time to emphasize to Puerto Ricans the money they owe to Wall Street.

Donald Trump took $107 million promised to charities ... and kept it Donald Trump wants attention for giving $1 million to those affected by recent hurricanes -- donations that so far haven't actually happened. But he's still sitting on a massive heap of cash from January which, despite promises, hasn't gone to help anyone but Trump. It's been eight months. How much has been given out? None. None at all.

While Obama humanizes undocumented immigrants and calls them Americans, Trump calls them vomit Trump called undocumented immigrants from Mexico violent criminals, characterized them as vomit, talked about disease and water flowing through a sieve, and in general spoke as if they were devoid of any human qualities. His details encouraged anyone listening to see them as sub-human.

White House says Trump won't sign DACA replacement, has no interest in helping Dreamers Huckabee Sanders went so far as to call Trump's actions "compassionate" because the announcement doesn't kick Dreamers out immediately. She indicated that Trump could have kicked out Dreamers immediately, and should be given credit for protecting Dreamers. Despite Trump's many claims to a "heart," his actions were brutally cruel.

Shut your filthy pie-hole If Trump were to decide to plunk down a half-dozen Nagasaki-sized nukes on North Korea, that would be just fine with this supposedly Christian preacher. He wouldn't even advise the man to ponder the words of Truman on this date in 1945 -- the day after Nagasaki was obliterated -- that he "didn't like the idea of killing [...] all those kids."

New WH Chief of Staff Apparently Clueless About What the Constitution Says About the President Trump's new chief of staff, John Kelly, not only doesn't seem to be familiar enough with the Constitution to know that the president's oath of office is in it, but has a pretty wild story about how that oath came into existence.
