Peter G Cohen, artist, activist, writer, was born and lived in New York City till the age of 10, when his family moved to upper Bucks County PA. There he attended one room school and came ot know the sorrounding, largely Polish, farm community. He later atttended the George school and Univeristy of Chicago. Was drafted into WWII, learned to repair radios and saw service in the Phillipines and the occupation of Japan. Attended Art Students league, New School and School of Paintings and Sculpture in Mexico City on the GI Bill.
Had his first one-man show at Eggleston Gallery, NYC, in 1948. Traveled through Eastern US painting industrial subjects and people. Went ot India on an educational project, which fell through, and Peter worked for Indian and British companies in Calcutta for 18 months. In 1964 he bought a home in the Poconos for himself and his two children, where he lived and painted for 35 years. In 1999 he moved to Santa Barbara CA, where he created the website nukefreeworld.com, is son Daniel created the website petergcohen.com for the paintings in the 'artist''s collection.' Peter has had a dozen one-man shows of his paintings and painted numerous murals for architects and decorators. He now writer for various internet sites.
