The Lies of "Conservatism" and the "Center" are Immoral The created fiction of the "center" is used as an excuse for inaction on behalf of America's obscenely wealthy interests. The "center" is ever-moving, if only we had the leadership that was unbought to move it toward our aspirations and dreams, and to take advantage of the great skills of the American people.

Mitch McConnell's Number One Goal is Not Helping Americans; It's Defeating President Obama Asked what his party's main political job will be in the new Congress, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell answered, "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President [Barack] Obama to be a one-term president."

Corporations Wanted Personhood: Supreme Court Gave it to Them. Treat BP/Corps Like People Who Commit Crimes People wouldn't be protected from prosecution in such a case, so why should BP only get the advantages of the legal rights of "corporate personhood," but not be subject to the legal sanctions that we as Americans would be subject to?

Andrew Breitbart Smells Like Bad Ass, And It's Time the White House Started Dousing Him with the Disinfectant of Truth Breitbart claims that he is an upholder of morality and some higher ground of an America who has lost its principles, when he is a shining example of just how badly we have lost our bearings; he operates from the gutter and seeks to create a paternalistic nation of oligarchical rule.

We Have a Corporate Media That Covers up the Truth Instead of Uncovering the Truth: That's a Problem Real journalists who aren't yet corrupted by the lure of wealth try to uncover the truth. But those who climb the ladder of fame and high salaries of the corporate media learn quickly that their jobs are to cover up the truth, and our nation suffers grievously for it.

We Thought We Were Electing a Prius, and Got a Tank Instead: The Last Gasps of Empire' President Obama has turned out to be perhaps the last President with the opportunity to cut us free from the past. And, instead, he holds onto that anchor is if it were a life jacket as it pulls us down, leaving us to look longingly at what might save us from afar. The promise of an evolving and sustainable America is within our reach, but thus far not within Obama's grasp.

The Legal Case Against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Et Al., Is Murder One, Not Just War Crimes If Bush, Cheney & cohorts are guilty of murder, do we follow the conservative example & pretend it's OK?

Terrorists and Their GOP Enablers Who Terrorize Us The GOP wants to be the megaphone for the terrorists, turning America into a mass of quivering jelly so that they can assume dictatorial powers, as Cheney and Bush did. If you doubt it, just catch Dick Cheney on one of his FOX interviews to understand this syndrome.

Roger Ailes Produced a TV Special: 'Wizards, Clowns, and Honest Liars'; Take Out the Honest Part and It's Him It's no coincidence that the head of the most successful propaganda operation in the history of American television is a hypocrite: name a prominent Republican who isn't a hypocrite when it comes to "family."

Why Texas Trumpster Governor Is Letting COVID Rage There may be several cynical and deadly reasons that Texas Governor Greg Abbott completely abandoned any COVID restrictions in the second most populous state in the US. Texas has been a hotbed of COVID denialism among its entirely GOP executive branch.

Wanted for Murder: Antonin Scalia Scalia was one of just two written dissenters (along with his puppet, Clarence Thomas), who ferociously challenged the notion that the Supreme Court should ensure that an innocent man not be put to death.

Axe the Filibuster and Pass HR 1 The Democrats own an abiding debt to Blacks, who have been steadfast supporters of the party in its modern incarnation, to guarantee their voting rights, instead of standing by as the Republicans steamroll voter exclusion.

BP: Eco-Terrorism Inc. They Should be Prosecuted, Tried and Convicted Under Eco-Terrorism Laws Passed by the Right Wing BP was too cheap to use methods that might have prevented the Gulf disaster and it lied to the government about having any real semblance of a safety plan. It has a long history of knowingly not taking adequate steps to prevent spills because BP figured that there was more profit in being fined than in the cost of preventing spills in the first place. If this isn't eco-terrorism, what is?

Murder, Sadism and Torture: The Bush Administration Was the Combo Deal Facing the possibility that our government commits murder in our name for any reason is the last thing most Americans want to hear, but we absolutely must deal with it.

Progressives: Divided We Fall. Keep Your Eye on the Prize of Government for the Common Good and Healing the Planet Movements require shoe leather, organization and loud voices, not e-mail petitions that are quickly deleted if they ever even arrive in a Congressional or Senate Offices. Movements require sweat equity, courage, perseverance, self-sacrifice and determination. Movements can change the world; E-mails to Congress won't.

Message from Mars: Psycho GOP TX State Rep Claims "Jihad Moms" are Bearing Children in U.S. as Terrorist Moles These psychos are like some rumor mongers out of the medieval ages, and they are dragging America backwards into the dark ages. They talk about procreating terrorists and "anchor babies," but they are the real anchors, pulling America down and preventing progress as the nation is in need of smart strategic thinking, not schizophrenic messages from Mars.

A GOP Senator Who Denounces Supreme Court "Judicial Activism" is Like Being a Vegetarian Who Owns a Slaughterhouse In order to celebrate our independence, it's time to re-dedicate ourselves to regaining our Constitution, our rights, and the supremacy of the individual over institutions such as corporations. That's not "judicial activism"; that's the original intent of the foundation of our laws.

Courageous, Fierce, Brazen: 3 Words You'll Never Hear Applied to the Democrats in D.C. Leadership requires those adjectives that the Democrats in D.C. scurry away from: courage, boldness, conviction. There is no Wizard of Oz. If the Dems want to speak with conviction and fearlessnes, they will have to summon the courage themselves -- and there's been little indication that they have the inherent capacity to do so.

Throw the Top BP Executives and Its Two SubContractors in Federal Prison Until the Gulf Well is Capped and Damages Paid We think imprisoning the 15 officials from the three companies would result in a timely stopping of the horrific amounts of oil polluting the Gulf and eventually the Atlantic Ocean. After all the corporations are people -- the Supreme Court ruled in January -- so let's apply the law as it should be applied under the concept of Corporate Personhood.

Afghanistan, America's Longest War, and the Perfect Arc of Failure The errant policy followed by both the Bush and Obama administrations has led us into a situation where we will be just where we were before the invasion of Afghanistan began. This is a failure of such stunning proportion that it would be a farce were it not so deadly, costly, and harmful to the American nation and what is needed to move us forward domestically.
