Henry Kissinger calls for a New Post-Covid World Order Henry Kissinger thinks the Coronavirus is a threat to his precious New World Order, so he wants President Trump to do whatever he can to protect the system. In an opinion piece that was published in the Wall Street Journal on Friday, the former Secretary of State urged Trump to launch a grand project, like the Marshall Plan, to unify the allies and convince them that Uncle Sam can still rally the troops in a time of crisis.

Another Bubble-Making Farce: Bernanke's Inflation Problem When the Fed creates reserves at the banks (QE) it adds to base money, but that money does not trickle down to the real economy until the worker bees (you and me) take out loans or run up our VISAs. When credit is not expanding (which it isn't except for student loans and sub-prime auto loans), activity flags and the economy shifts into low gear. That's where we are now.

Putin's Blitz Leaves Washington Rankled and Confused The US political class was caught off-guard by Putin's blitz. They know that Putin is undoing years of work by rolling up proxy-units that were supposed to achieve US objectives, but there is no agreement among ruling elites about what should be done. It's a much better option then waiting around for the US to impose a no-fly zone that would collapse the central government and reduce Syria to Libya-type anarchy.

Bernanke rolls the dice Ben Bernanke's speech on Friday in Boston could turn out to be a real barnburner. In fact, there's a good chance the Fed chairman will announce changes in policy that will stun Wall Street and send tremors through Capital Hill. It could also erode confidence in the dollar leading to the untimely demise of the world's reserve currency. It's all a roll of the dice.

Ending the Dollar's Tyranny The US dollar is the very heart of the empire. It's the cornerstone upon which the military, the media and the political establishment rests. The dollar's strength however does not come from its comparative value to other currencies, but from its widespread use as the world's reserve currency. As the reserve currency the dollar defies the fundamental rules for determining "real value." All is not as it appears...
