Peter Goldmark: Healing the Farmers' Amber Waves of Pain US House Candidate Peter Goldmark farms in Eastern Washington, so he knows how tough it is to survive in family farming, but with his doctorate in molecular biology, he's developed a strain of wheat that grows great in spite of Eastern Washington's long winters and dry summers. He's also pushing hard for support for farmers to grow National Security Crops--oil seed and ethanol-producing crops to reduce foreign oil dependence.
