Peter B. Collins, Dave Berman to Discuss Unprovable Federal Election Results - 10/23 5pm PT For a long time I have argued federal election results are inherently inconclusive, unknowable and unprovable - based entirely on the conditions under which "elections" are conducted. John Nichols: 2000, 2004 Elections "Inconclusive"; Humboldt Dems to Show "Uncounted" This Sat The Nation's John Nichols' calls the 2000 and 2004 elections "inconclusive," a word I've used for years. But watching "Slacker Uprising" was like seeing the Charlie Brown Nation running up to kick the football that is always pulled away at the last moment. Will Charlie ever learn? Will we?

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day Did you know Sept. 17 is officially Constitution Day and Citizenship Day? In honor of the occasion, I'll be speaking at a rally in Eureka, CA. Here is an outline preview of how I suggest we reject "elections" that can only produce unprovable results.

Hurricane Gustav, Shock Doctrine and "Election" Events Hurricane Gustav will make landfall Monday, but the storm has already altered the presidential campaign. The militarized response on the Gulf Coast, as well as to protest of the Republican convention in MN, are foreboding signs for the prospects of martial law.

Commentary on NYTimes: Can You Count On These Machines? The New York Times devotes nearly 8,000 words to electronic voting, telling us little we didn't already know while perpetuating false framing about "trust" in election results. But what else should we expect from them, after all? It's just one more component feeding inherent uncertainty.

Eureka Times-Standard OpEd: Hand-counting ballots can work Click here to see what it looks like when citizens not only watchdog election conditions, but fiercely tend to the way the media covers the issue.
