Flight Into Egypt
Gaza, with a population of l.7 Palestinians, mostly youth, has been cut off from the rest of Palestine, as part of Israeli policy of dividing the Palestinian people. Its Port, which has been closed for over 40 years, its airport destroyed by Israel and its border crossing both through Eretz, Israel, and Rafah, Egypt, often closed, makes Gaza the largest open air prison in the world.

Forty concerned citizens created a blockade this morning of Hancock Air National Guard Base outside Syracuse, NY. MQ-9 Reaper drones are operated by remote control from the base, and are used to carry out attacks in Afghanistan and possibly other countries. The activists say this use of drones violates International and domestic law, and amounts to war crimes.

The findings have national implications because the Obama administration's health law is largely patterned after the Massachusetts plan, including its individual mandate. Ahmad Nasser Matahen, a night guard and technician student at the theater woken up by heavy blocks of stone hurled at the entrance of the theater. American delegation will fast in Islamabad to atone for U.S. drone strikes
More than a dozen American peace delegates visiting Pakistan to witness the damage wrought by U.S. drone attacks will fast from sunrise to sunset Tuesday, Oct. 9, in front of the Islamabad Press Club, Sector F-6. They will sing songs of peace, display pictures of the more than 160 Pakistani children who have been killed by American drones, and extend a message of peace and solidarity to passersby.

While citing the merits of a publicly administered single-payer plan, Hsiao's team ended up by recommending a "public-private hybrid single-payer" model that would be managed by an independent board and that would contract-out the job of claims processing to private and public bidders.
