On November 7th, "GIVE PEACE A VOTE" On November 7th, we voters have the opportunity to cast our votes for candidates dedicated to ending the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and restoring humanity to our nation and the world. It is unfathomable to continue the death, destruction and suffering caused by these wars. Surely, the money spent on war would be much better spent on peace... feeding the hungry, promoting literacy, housing the homeless and healing the sick.

CRUSHED BY THE WEIGHT OF THE FLAGS At the interment site for President Ford, the American flag that draped over his casket was handed to Vice President Cheney. At that moment I imagined not one, but over 3,000 memorial flags being handed to Dick Cheney all at the very same time. A shower of American flags to honor all who had fallen. A surge of American flags for those who had died in His war.

The Cafferty FOOL Wrongly Assails John Edwards Every afternoon in CNN's "Situation Room," anchored by milquetoast non-talent Wolf Blitzer, Blitzer shares a few short exchanges with self-styled curmudgeon, Jack Cafferty. Cafferty, disguised as a wisecracking '50s-'60s style newsman, plays the vexed moralistic foil to Blitzer's dispassionate bore. It's Cafferty's loose-cannon "Lucy" meets Blitzer's timid "Ethel Mertz." Those silly girls are at it yet again!

Why I Love Elizabeth Edwards When it comes to celebrity, I'm not much impressed. In fact, I find the concept of idolization abhorrent. More like insane. But when it comes to Elizabeth Edwards, I'll relinquish a bit of my 'sanity' and let awe take command over me.

UNNECESSARY KILLERS IN AN UNNECESSARY WAR For those who are serving in Afganistan and Iraq, war is not a game. It's a nightmare. A travesty where young men and women who were not raised to kill are unnecessarily turned into killers.

DEAR CONNECTICUT: Don't Blow It The Way We Did In California California, the supposed bastion of progressive politics, let the progressive tide roll right on by and re-elected Bush Democrats to support and maintain the status quo. The world was horrified when America re-installed Bush in 2004, and horrified again on June 6th when Californians nixed real proponents of change to reunite puppets with their faux Democratic seats.

TELL SENATOR ELECT MCCASKILL NOT TO CONFIRM JOHN BOLTON I was startled this afternoon, when in a conversation with Chris Matthews on MSNBC's "Hardball," Democratic Senator-elect Claire McCaskill of Missouri, stated that she would consider confirming George W. Bush's contentious and slimy recess appointee, John Bolton, as United States' Ambassador to the United Nations.
